Gates

The gate was invented thousands of years before. A gate can be a simple-constructed gate of a range land just as well as a heavy construction like a medieval town-gate from oak or a modern rolling gate from steel, which fulfills highest safety requirements. The difference to the door lies essentially in the fact that a door leads to inhabited rooms, whereas a gate leads on a meadow, a courtyard or into a garage, an industrial hall or e.g. into a bus depot. Structurally a wing gate differs only by the building material from a wing door. Modern gates are offered in very different construction forms, e.g. as rotary wing gate, swinging gate, sliding gate, rolling gate, role sliding gate or sectional gate. The mostly used material is steel and/or for garage gates sheet steel on steel frameworks. However also garage gates with wood panelling are offered. Apart from the garden gates, large wooden gates are almost all individual works of a carpenter.
