Fire door

The preventive fire protection is part of the German building law and the building regulations of the Federal States. Herein the requirements regarding inflammability of the building materials, the fire resistance period of certain construction units and the solidity of the closures and/or openings are defined. Cut-off fire compartments can e.g. be the appartment, the floor, the stair case or the corridor serving as fire escape. The building regulation has defined special requirements regarding the arrangement and the structure of these fire escapes to garantee that people can escape or be rescued in dangerous situations. Openings of these fire compartments must resist against fire for a certain, fixed time.
